Lucky ? lol .. Guessing it just recently happened .. being I'm not a EXPERT by any means I truely dont know what it takes to expose the ZINC in this case .
Just think it couldn't have left the mint like that *nor been something that came from the initial striking of the coin since the reverse is Raised like it is * Again tho , not an expert just my opinion ..
The coin was damaged, a BB is a valid guess. You can see evidence of the damage on both sides. The damage just pushed the surface of the coin in where it hit so the copper plating was pushed in with it. Not all damage removes the copper plating.
