you may have a "new error" haha, since I was not able to find anything like that in the charlton guide or coins and canada. Here is the link for the two common or known errors for this year

Hi kitsy

Sorry to chime in so late on your post but I was on vacation the last couple of weeks. Royal is right when he says that Charlton doesn't list any errors for 1955 -- it seems to be a slow year for variety nickels. The double date and "closed 5's" and "open 5's" seem to be it. However I have a minor addition to the list -- the website link he posted alludes to only one variation of the closed 5's, but if you look hard enough you can find them with "medium opened 5's" as well. I suspect it was minor die polishing that caused these varieties (there are others on this site far more knowledgable than I that could tell you for sure), you just have to keep your eyes open and you'll find some. Also, As an added bonus, all these "open/medium open/closed 5's" are repeated in the 1956 nickels as well.

Good hunting!
Rest in Peace

Hi kitsy

Looks like your waterline is a die clash that hooks up the the denticals, so it looks at the picture below.

Very cool imagery, wert. Does that program you use just magnify the depth and height of the surface or does it do something else to get those great effects? And would that be a die clash or die crack way out on the rim like that?
Rest in Peace

That'd be a die crack, not clash.
