Hello! I've been picking up alot of wholesale bulk lots lately from local dealers and I found this two headed roman coin among one of the lots. Any help identifying it would be immensely appreciated.

Interesting coin, I believe that it's a Roman provincial, perhaps a tetradrachm. I'm not able to make out the legends so I can't tell who they are.

Yes echizento is right it is a tetradrachm and that means it should be from Alexandria. However, I do not know how to read these inscriptions so I can not help you with an attribution.

Haven't checked, but so far I would agree that it is Alexandrian from the style and fabric, perhaps of Philip 1 (obv.), and Philip 11 (rev.).

I believe it's a tetradrachm of Vabalathus and Aurelian; see the one labelled Milne 1735 on the Wildwinds page.

By the way, XoG, there are folks looking for you, if you hadn't noticed.

Thanks all for the responses! And thanks sap for posting that link! I've sent John an email, I haven't been able to receive PM's from certain people for some time now as well as pocket it now alerts, I've tried posting in the technical issues section to no avail. I suppose I'll have to try switching out my email address with another one to see if it will solve the problem.
