Jeff I would consider saving up for the mother of all Silver Eagles The 1995W You are only a grand or 2 away, I guess the question is are you investing or are you collecting, I have started a set of Modern commeratives and Silver Eagles, but I have a hard time spending my money on these, and I collect everything, Myabe Try a Type Set or try Building a registry Set through Pcgs or NGC. I personally Do not care for Graded coins. Good Luck and welcome to the Forum

To me the question would be what is your goal for your collection? Are you collecting as an investment or for your personal enjoyment or a combination of the two. I started collecting about 4 months ago. At that time I started collecting SAE and Modern Commemoratives. I have completed my SAE Proof set and have almost completed my modern commemerative proof set. To me I collect what catch my eye when I am at the coin store. Currently I am collecting Mint sets and proof sets from the US Mint along with many coins from other countrys. I do not collect graded coins because that is saying that the graders option is better then mine plus I like to be able to touch my coins. In my option the choice of what coin a person collects is a personal choice. I suggest that you collect what you like.
