I am not an error expert, but if this was done using any kind of press, wouldn't the image be incused? It looks like a die clash to me. What am I missing here?

I am going with the press. I think it is incuse, it is just the way the lighting is that makes it look that way.

Giveaway: Look at the top rim at 12 o,clock. You can see where the edge of the coin they placed on top cut into the rim.

As for actual bids, there is a sucker born every minute....

Wouldn't a die clash only have the object in the field and not on across the face and head?

This is definitely a press job. I have a collection of real lincoln clashes, and I am positive that this is a fake. Too bad people actually bid on it.
