I am fairly new to collecting and I have a question and would like to ask for more info.

I am looking at a 2006 W Silver Eagle uncirculated and a dealer told me that he had a rare burnished die variety with low mintage but another dealer said that all 2006 W Silver Eagles are burnished die variety.

Does anyone have any info on this ?

thanks

All 2006 W Silver Eagles were made from burnished dies. If you're buying one, make sure it has a W mintmark and you'll be fine.

That is not correct. The 2006 proof silver eagle also has the W mintmark. Since he is new to collecting, he needs to be sure the coin is NOT the proof one. You assumed he knows the difference between proof and Unc. That may be true, but he may not know either....
