I have a very good relationship with my main branch. They help me out all the time and are very nice to talk to. My one teller told me I was the only one in that branch that searches. I was glad to hear that . She said to me that She would start a box for me of dimes. As CW coins come in, she will put them in the box for me. This was a few weeks ago. They have a bunch of boxes but all from the mint. They ask me to bring coins back on occasion, they all know my marks so they never give those ones back to me.
So I went in today and all they had were 5 rolls...lol. she told me that all the other dimes they have are the mint boxes or ones that I have already checked. This particular teller runs the business cage so all coinage goes through her. To my surprise, she turned to me and said that she's going to shop out all the boxes they have and reorder cw boxes that She can give to me. She said they will be in by Friday. I thanked her very much and thought how cool that She was going to do that all on her own. Its also funny that this happened on teller appreciation day I brought in Tim bits for everyone. Cheers!

Excellent!

You most definitely need to continue taking care of them.

I would take along a "thank you" gift of some sort on the next trip! Maybe some chocolate dipped strawberries or pretzels or something along those lines.

It is good to read a positive story about a bank, and a good notice to people who are having trouble at their current bank: go to a different branch.

I'm not quite on the same level as my main bank, but when I dump coins they never hassle to ask me to swipe my card to get my account number, they never complain when I want coins and they have to step into the vault, and they never refuse to check their loose drawer change for something I am looking for.

My gf also helps out with banks by her work, and she works for a Chipotle. She frequently brings her banks and gives me coupons for free stuff or discount food for the tellers to keep them happy.

I am hoping to build this kind of good relationship as well samsnate! I had a nice exchange today with one of the few remaining tellers at my local branch that I hadn't bought coin from yet:

LaureateBust: Hi, I'd like to buy a box of dimes please.
Teller: Oh, you must be a collector.
LB: Why, yes I am!
Teller: Are you looking for any 50-cent pieces?
LB:
Teller: I have tons. I've been collecting them for years, American ones too. I was going through them last night and figured I should get rid of most of them. I'll sell them to you rather than to the bank. Give me your phone number and I'll let you know.

Hey bust! Thats amazing! You will have to post final results here! I had a teller say the same thing to me at a different branch. She had like 25 of them. Turned out to be all 69s and newer. Too bad. She said that she had silver dollars at home and she would check the dates and bring em in. She said she would sell them to me for 15 each which I'm ok with. Went in last week to check but she had forgotten.Try again next time I get a day off. Cheers!

@samsnate: I'll definitely post results when I have some. Even if they're all nickel halves I'll be happy to buy them at face! If there are silver pieces, I too would be happy to pay a little below melt value for them.
