Im not so sure at what degree this is but it sure is tilted. If some one can tell me what degree it is and what kind of value does this hold. Thanks. Edited by folcan99 05/22/2012 8:45 pm

That is a pretty significant find. If you have a 2 by 2 holder, place the obverse straight up and use a protractor on the reverse. As far as the degrees go, some calculate in a clock wise direction and some calculate in a counter clock wise direction. I always take the lesser of the two. Great find.

Hi folcan99The Queen is -2.8 degrees as pic below shows. The beaver is approx. 60-62 degrees minus the -2.8 would make it 58-60 degrees approx.

There would be a minor premium on that coin. Grade-wise, that coin has seen better days. You would be lucky to get $25 for that coin, maybe more if a couple of 5-cent collectors got into a "must-have" bidding war...

Even if the coin is 1 of a kind? I think it would be worth more and the coin isn't in that bad of shape. I think the microscope makes it look to be in rough shape but it really is in preatty good shape.

Die rotations more than 90 degrees do command a premium. Less than 90 degrees is neat, but generally only mint-state coins command any kind of real premium. For example, this coin is older, larger denomination, silver and MS-62 grade. It was priced at $75 and I haggled and got it for $60. So, put that in perspective relative to your coin. https://goccf.com/t/119014&SearchTerms=65,degreesRemember, being 1 of a kind is nothing new, welcome to the wonderful world of error collecting - every error is unique. Demand and the "wow factor" sets the price, not the uniqueness...

A few years ago, I recall hearing of a few 1998 nickels with up to 90 degree rotation. So this is not "unique", but it surely has some small premium. Nice find, in any case!
