Thanks guys and Amaths that is an ebay find at 335 free shipping. I hate paying that much with silver dipping, but considering I figured it was a rare ox odd pour I figured it may be worth 33.50 per oz.. Did not realize the 5 serials were rare, good deal....

I just love those chunky poured bars! The most efficient space to store mass is a sphere.
That got me around to thinking: For the golfers out there, who are good at math:
One of my friends won a golfing trophy, which is a solid pure silver golf ball.
How much would it weigh?

Knowing the size of a loaf 25.5 bar I had not long back which had real loaf/oval rectangular dimensions, I would guess around 20 oz....

I think the second bar is M&B Mining out of Las Vegas, I have one almost exactly like it.

Very cool! But I think the Engelhard bars in position 3 and 4 were struck bars and not poured.

Very interesting Jokingjoker as I would be interested to know what the differences are. Obviously pouring bars is an older cruder form perhaps....

From what I understand the 1000 oz bars are sent through an extruder machine and cut to spec (ie. 1oz,5oz,10oz) then are struck with dies. And the poured bars are, well, poured into molds for shape and size.

I was going to say the heretical Cristian order of the Knights Templar; but your answer is probably more accurate than mine.

Got it JJ, cut an stamped from one huge sheet, or poured into molds for the other. Seems like dumb question an I knew how the pour process goes, just was not sure on the other. Thanks, that makes much sense....

In the end as always, silver is silver in the end....
