Yes. If you do it long enough you will have many, many, many nickels and you'll be rich!!

. . . of course, you may also not be able to enter your basement for the piles of nickels dumped down there, but details, details.

If you're asking about rarity, I'm not sure. I'd think 2004 ("Westward Journey") and 2005 (some fancy new memorial design that wasn't Westward Journey) would be the ones to grab, but I'm not a big nickel person once you get out of Indian/buffalos.

yes as in rarity I have read here before that 2009 was a lower mintage year. I have been keeping the ones I find and I already have a roll and a half of 2009 d. but still havent found a 2009 p yet.

46 million is a lot, but compared to the hundreds of millions in other years, it is relatively low. Still, with that many you would think you would still find them, but I have only found 2.

the 2009 p nickels are hard to find, most of the 2009 p nickel batch was sent to Puerto Rico plus most got 2009 p new rolls at $20-$30 per roll back in 2009 and no one wants to open them!

I have never seen a single 2009 nickel in change yet. A friend got a couple 2009-D from Vegas but we never see any in Pa. I have also gone through about 50 rolls of nickels and still never found one yet. I would save any that I found.
