You should try to store them outside direct sunlight. There is no requred temperature, but it is best if it is relatively stable. And they should be stored a place with low humidity. I do not know if you like patina on your coins. If you don't, them it might be required to keep them in 2x2s, capsules or other airtites. It will depend on your atmospheric conditions. Where I live, such precautions appear unneccesary. The only patinated coins I have arrived here that way.

Ever notice that items in places like Egypt are preserved for thousands of years. Dryness is one of the great secrets in preseving anything. If your room is part of an apartment or condo or house, keeping your individual rooms invironment is difficult. Every time you open a door or window, you present new air with possible humidity into your room. Some recommend a safe but there too, are problems. Every time you open the safe, you allow all new moiture and air in and old stuff falls out. You could get a small room dehumidifier but then you'ld be emptying it all the time.
Possibly the best thing is to just keep as many coins as possible in Zip Lock Plastic bags and push out as much air as possible. Keep as many coins as possible in 2x2's, plastic rolls or even plastic flips.
