So I went down to the a&w down the street for some dinner last night. When I walked in there was some homeless man trying to pay for something with an enormous pile of pennies. The cashier told him she didn't have time to count his pennies and wouldn't accept them. I had a toonie in my pocket and I offered it to him for all the pennies. He gladly accepted and walked away. After I ordered and paid for my dinner, I started looking through the pennies while I waited for fresh food. To my surprise I found a penny that has eluded me for some time..Canadian 1941 1c. When I saw it, I almost screamed out of joy, but I held back as the restaurant was quite full. After I got my food, I rushed home and carefully sealed the coin in a 2x2 and placed it in my album. My teen burger, fries and rootbeer tasted especially good that evening :)

Nice find and story to go along with it. You had all the way up to "rootbeer", I can't even stand the smell of that stuff.

Just how "Karma" is suppose to work. You did a good thing for that guy by buying his pennies and got rewarded with something you needed. Nice story.

AMEN!
The Good Deed is one thing.
The other thing is that one often finds a long-sought-after coin
when not at all searching for it.
It remains a collector's joy.

It is nice to see you helping out someone in need.
Shame on that cashier for not helping someone out in need.
