Yeah, I'm just not sure how to upload pictures to here, and I only have an iPhone camera to use so those pictures won't be so good. I bought the rolls awhile ago and if I remember correctly I found around 8-12 indians a rolls most of the time LIBERTY visible. I found two 1909 Lincoln and two 1909 indians as well.

Let's be honest.
If you had a roll that looked like this would you sell it on ebey or would you not be able to help yourself and open it up.

I'd probably sell it on ebay because the chances are probably better that I would get more from the auction than the coins in the roll are worth.

wrestling_135:I don't understand how this guy has 100% feedback?

Feedback on ebay is kind of a joke/stupid for a lot of reasons. You can't take it too seriously, even 100%. This is a good example of why you shouldnt...

This is a 50 COIN, UNSEARCHED PENNY ROLL that I purchased from a family in Tennessee that saved them over many years. ALL dates from 1857 through 1958 have been found at one time or another, including all key and semi key dates. This includes Flying Eagle, Indian Head and Wheat Pennies. You may also find other types of US coins mixed in. They are all the same size or smaller than pennies. This includes Civil War Tokens, Silver Dimes(Mercury, Barber and Seated Liberty) and Nickle Three Cent pieces. Brilliant Steel Pennies and Brilliant Wheats have been seen very often and in all decades, not just 1950's.

His first sentence does not match the picture of the roll. He says the family saved them over many years but the coins are machine rolled. He goes on to say what you might find in the rolls but without having x-ray vision how is he going to know what you might find? The really amazing thing is there are people who actually will buy his coins.

It is virtually impossible to leave negative feedback on ebay anymore and neutrla feedback won't affect his feedback score.

I really have no idea why the good folks at ebay have yet to put a stop to this kind of auction. They are all over the website and are nothing more than a scam. I have roll searched Lincoln cents for years and have yet to find one roll that has a different coin or denomination on one end. It reminds me of the scam which a seller is selling an unsearched ancient coin lot with the possibility of "gold being found."

If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is.

The reason these guys get 100% feedback is the edge coins are always as advertised and the middle often contains
decent, but never spectacular coins. A typical tactic might be to buy 50 1909-VDB's in Good, 500 mixed IHC's, and 5000 mixed LWC's. Put a VDB on the edge of each roll, visible, and then pack the center with a randomized mix of the IHC's and LWC's. Most buyers will be elated since they are getting the advertised edge coin and they think the rolls are spectacular since a typical roll of 50 might contain 5 or more Indian Head cents. Contrast with a "normal" randomized penny lot which would be all 1940/1950 LWC's and zero IHC's or early wheats.

The reason the sellers can do that is these rolls sell for huge premiums and the profit margins are very predictable. So it appeals to the lotto/treasure hunter crowd and - at times - they get rewarded with decent coins but in aggregate the dealer makes a handsome profit.

Un-searched roll, bull. Someone had to put that roll together. It has been searched, scam to raise up prices for sub-par leveled coins.
