The author seems unaware that the obverse design was changed in 2010, getting rid of the spaghetti hair that he seems to be looking for. It's not clear where he's getting his "uncirculated" coins. Did he look at mint sets? Or rolls from some other source?

The writer clearly has unrealistic expectations. Which is surprising for someone who describes themselves as having collected for fifty years. Like a lot of novice collector he seems to think that the mint is there to produce collector quality coins only and that ever new coin encountered should be sharply struck and blemish free as tf each coin was caught by hand and put into its own individual holder to protect it from damage or contact with other coins, and that goes for the coins intended for circulation as well! I really suspect people like this have no concept of how the coins are actually produced and handled. I do and I am surprised they come out as nice as they do!

People have become jaded by our emphasis on high end MS coins. We all know what a MS-60 coin is n ugly heavily bag marked coin that happens to have no wear. Whay they seem to have forgotten was the adjective that was given to this grade....."Typical". That is what your average run of the mill uncirculated coin would look like, a not very attractive marked up coin. But the average collector now seems to be unhappy if the average coin coming out of a mint bag doesn't grade at least a MS-65.
