Millennium 50c "No Flag" Not Really

Had a look at this doozie and questioned it.
It's a Millennium 50c with "no flag"
Pretty much has been grinded off, from a circulation coin -- I figured out it's a circulation stamp as the flag reaches the top and bottom of a coin -- in a proof stamp it has a gap between the rims.
But it also has weird makings on both sides, possibly acid or something corrosive.
What do ye peeps think.

definitely the circulation issue rather than the acid stripped proof.

The word "year" and the "T" in cents also appear to be smoothed.

Yeah, i'd say post mint tampering on this one,there is remnants of the top of the flag there,sanding of some sort I think as the rims are also affected at either end of the part where the flag would normally be.

Possible Counerfeit....

Refer to bottom of page 137 of Greg McDonald's book ‘2012 Pocket Guide to Australian Coins and Banknotes' as he makes mention of this type of coin.

Seller has opened themself liable to prosecution by this auction

Pretty stupid really when you can get a real one for between $30 and $50
Or for 50 cents if you have the patience and eyesight.
Alas I have neither so I am happy to ebay noodle
