Millennium 50c "no Flag" Not Really

Australian coin Pillar of the Community Australia 1244 Posts	Posted 05/30/2012 05:54 am Had a look at this doozie and questioned it. It's a Millennium 50c with "no flag" Pretty much has been grinded off, from a circulation coin -- I figured out it's a circulation stamp as the flag reaches the top and bottom of a coin -- in a proof stamp it has a gap between the rims. appleangel07 Pillar of the Community Australia 1607 Posts	Posted 05/30/2012 06:57 am Yeah, i'd say post mint tampering on this one,there is remnants of the top of the flag there,sanding of some sort I think as the rims are also affected at either end of the part where the flag would normally be. Refer to bottom of page 137 of Greg McDonald's book ‘2012 Pocket Guide to Australian Coins and Banknotes' as he makes mention of this type of coin.
