Below is my less than ideal Mint story, of my new dollar coin purchase. Does anyone else have a story to tell?
In the belief that the coin rolls would be sold out very quickly, I could have been found hovering over the refresh tab on the PC and the dial button on my phone. Alas, I couldn't get through for a good while. I persisted on the telephone though - the Mint's server must have been overloaded because I couldn't get past the Mint homepage. Since there are no redial buttons on our phones at work, I redialed by hand for (I'm not exaggerating) an hour and a half.
Finally, I got an operator WHO DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE NEW DOLLAR COINS!!!!!!

When I told her what I wanted (2 rolls and a subscription for the proof set), she said, "what set?" and I said a subscription for the proof set. She said, Oh, let me go ask my supervisor; that doesn't come out till Spring.

I said, I know that, but the website says you are taking subscriptions today. She had to go talk to her supervisor.
She came back and started asking my pedigree info. When I told her I had an account, she had to go talk to her supervisor again. After waiting on hold for approximately 30 minutes, the supervisor got on the phone. I told her I wanted 2 rolls and a subscription for the proof set. She said, Oh, the proof set doesn't come out till Spring.

I said, I know that, but the website says you are taking subscriptions today. I was again put on hold. After another 20 minutes, I finally got to place the order with the supervisor's supervisor (!!) When I spoke with her, she said, You've placed this order three times now. Words failed me.
When she told me she was going to delete the extra orders, I begged her not to do it (lest they lose all my orders.) She reluctantly agreed. So now I'm getting 6 rolls and three proof sets.
