I found two 40% Kennedy half dollars. I plan on getting a box every other week.

What's the best way to dump them?

I opened a TD Bank account and plan on dumping $500 worth there every other week in the coin counting machine. Does anyone else do this? Is this too much to dump at once? Is there a better way to dump? Merchant account?

What are you averaging per box of halves? Has anyone gotten any Franklins lately?

In my experience, you have done pretty well to find two silver halves in one box. I am usually not that lucky - nowadays it seems all coins are pretty well picked clean of silver. Quarters and dimes are even more picked over than halves. Still, you can find interesting things - in the last couple months I found a Washington-Csrver commemorative in decent shape, four 40% silver Kennedies and one 1964 Kennedy. No Franklins or Walking Liberty halves.

I return a box of halves to a bank branch near me that has a coin counter about every two weeks. They don't seem to mind.

While I'm not finding much silver, I am saving a type set of Kennedies with the AU specimens I find. Maybe it will go to the grandkids. I keep the pretty good ones in a coin tube and when I find a better one I'll put it in a flip.

I average about 1 40% half per box or less, so I don't search halves much anymore.
I have better luck with dimes and even quarters. Best way to dump is to find a bank that will take your bag of coin over-the-counter, and receive immediate cash.

ive gotten 1 silver coin in about 14 boxes (plus getting hit with fees) I have cut down to just 3 boxes a week to focus on dimes and quarters (ATB's of course as well ) dumping at TD depends on each indivual branch - some are great some are really nasty , good luck to you in your searching

You don't reroll the coins? Maybe I am missing something like there is no such thing as an empty half roll, but my banks appreciate me rerolling the coins because they can put them straight into their drawer and use them instead of having to roll an entire bag of coins.
