I received this note today, it is real, I checked all the security features... (I've worked in restaurants for many many years, know how to check for a fake)... what struck me as odd was how there appears to be too much ink on the back of the bill? (the zeros in the numeral 100)... Can anyone help me out- is this worth anything, should I take it somewhere to have it looked at, etc? I searched the web several times over trying to find helpful info (that's how I found this site!)

Also, I assume the term "star note" means there's a star after the serial?

TY in advance for your time and help!

it is from a run of 1,920,000 which is the standered size for star note 100 dollar bills. it is not significant enough to be of any real value above face. in my humble opinion.

It always worth $100.
If you are to save $100 in a piggy bank for a rainy day, why not put note in there instead of any other bills....
Someone may be willing to pay a few bucks above face on ebay.... Listing it at the start price of $120 should net you a minimum of $102, after all fees and shipping (85% of $120).

Too bad it is so worn like that. If it was CU, it would definitely be a great find!

And yes, the star after the serial # makes it a star note.

Check out for more info on it:

And on the reverse, it looks more like dirt than ink?

I personally wouldn't save it.
