i came across a full roll of bright red 1949 pennies all but 7 are the same the 7 that are different have what looks like a raised dot behind the head I am uploading pic's if and one knows what that dot is that would be grate and what the pennies are worth ones with dots and with out thank you cory

What you want to check for with the 1949's is the A to Denticle and the A off Denticle. Here is what to look for:

You want to look at the last "A" in "GRATIA" and compare it to the pics below:

"A" To Denticle
1949-Canadian-Pennies

"A" Off Denticle
1949-Canadian-Pennies

The "A" To Denticle is the rarer of the two and holds a decent premium...especially in higher grades.

Nice looking cents.

As for the dot behind the head. I have not seen that before. It could be something as simple as a die chip. Neat that you have 7 examples of it in the roll. We will wait for some of the experts to chime in and see what they have to say.

thank you for the info on the a denticale mine looks like the A off but what about the dot I have 43 with out and had a look on ebay at a bunch and they had none ether but I have 7 with a dot like in the first pic is that an error they all came from the same roll or is there more to it but thank you for the reply

i just but another pic of it up circling it most of the 7 coins look the same some are toned a Little 2 are a faint rain bow and 1 is half toned on one side it was the end of the roll
