Below please find a recent acquisition to my Civil War cabinet.

Struck on copper and listed as having a rarity rating of R-4, the token is approximately MS-60 RB in grade.

Featured on the token's reverse is a steer, it was engraved by William K. Lanphear of Cincinnati Ohio. Its Fuld die number is 1287.

Civil-War-Token---Oh730B-1A---French-&-Swonger-Daily-Meat-Ma

French and Swonger were meat merchants in the town of Piqua Ohio.

Super piece, a most desireable reverse die, and the degree of red beautifully highlights the details. I suspect that the R-4 rating is too low on this one.
