New Member... I collect old America coins and different American coins (like the odd new Lincoln pennies with the scenes out of his life).
I also pick up silver rounds, and came across one today which is leaving me with little to go on.
Obverse is Seated Liberty (Barber, I think), with no stars or date. Reverse is a wreath with an American shield at the top between its points, and the "one" is spelled out rather than indicated by a numeral.
I have found examples with the same ob, but the reverse has a less-detailed wreath, no shield, and a numeral in the place of "one".
Can anyone give me a ballpark idea as to what spread of years this might have been minted?
Thank you.

No US coins were minted without a date. Is your coin just so worn to the point the date is no longer readable?

Sometime between about 1980 and 2012. I never saw much in the way of silver rounds in the 70's, bars wer the big thing back then. And since it is of private manufacture, and the are over 10,000 different silver round designs out there it would be very difficult to nail a specific one down to a specific period. Especially since it is undated and the manufacturer could have produced it at many different times. You also have the problem than many different manufacturers often used similar designs to each other. Sometimes one would go out of business and sell out his dies to another one.

It's always a good idea to attempt to add a photo of a questionable item.

@Nod2003 -- not a coin, a bullion round... Although I got one of those dated 1985, so it is not absolute about rounds not getting dates.

That was partly my fault. I moved it thinking that he was describing some classic US coins. I moved the thread again.
