Finally got my avatar and thought I would answer the question more fully of why I picked it. First, it was a present from my brother on my 60th birthday, which makes it very special to me. Second, I couldn't come to grips with a coin that had either a god or goddess on the reverse, as well as a emperor or king that killed Christians or Jews, as I am a Christian and the purpose of my collecting originally was to collect Biblical related coins (once I got on the forum that changed a bit thanks to you all! ). Third, the reverse on this coin says in Greek 'Jesus Christ, King of Kings'.... that says it all for me! Finally, the cross on the coin leans to the right. That was done on purpose, because I lean to the right! This little explanation isn't meant to offend anyone of another faith or lack there of. Just answering the question that Eng5858 started. And now that I have my avatar, I wanted to share that with you. God bless you all!

eng5858: It seems obvious from posters so far that there is some personal reason as to why an avatar is chosen. It is often, but not necessarily, related to a coin in your own collection.
If you generate your own distinctive avatar from one of your own pictures, you are more easily able to spot it, when quickly scrolling through a thread, because you have generated that avatar for yourself.

Quote: jw, you can buy more coin, sweet.... I have been staying away from the auctions and the sellers now for a week or so. That's the only way to keep from buying for me. oxos: Not only do I like your avatar, but your explanation as to why you picked it. It matters not if anyone else may not like your faith. It's your choice and I like the way you defend it rather then hide it (I never understood that concept).

I told my father about that very same coin trying to generate some interest for those coins since my father is very interested in going to church. But it kind of backfired on me, trying to get him interested. Then he said he would purchase one for me and I was like hey, I thought you might be interested in it. lol

Haha. No, that wasn't my intention. Although, I might have taken pride in such accomplishment years ago.
