Now that there are five extra quarters coming out this year, what will Dansco do about the existing 8146 album for it?

Update the 8146? When? Add an update page for sale to owners of the 8146?
Wait until 2015 to put out a corrected version of the 8146? I know it's completely backwards to be upset with the US Mint for coming out with extra coins during the life of series, the more variety of different coins the better, right? The moment I read about the new non-circulating San Francisco quarters, I thought, there goes the beautiful symmetry of having one page per year for the ATB album.

If you own a 8146 album what do you think? I might have to get a few more BEFORE Dansco corrects the album with these ill conceived quarters

I doubt they will do anything soon since we do not know for certain if this is a one time issue or not...

There will be 16 extra holes at the end of the 8147 (second volume). Plenty of room to hold them for this year, and two more. For now, I just plan to use the extra holes.

We will have to see how this works out.

And I was so excited about these albums being perfect from the start (unlike the DC/Territorial curve ball last time).

Those 16 extra holes in the 8147 wouldn't really work for me as I would know there were at least five quarters in the album that wasn't from the 2016-2021 years. That oddity would really bother me. Plus, I havent bought an 8147 yet.

One of my thoughts is to simply buy a 20-hole blank page and customize it myself and make it the last page of the 8146. It can hold four years of SF NCLT if the Mint makes this idiocy an annual offering. They'd be out of sequence, but at least they still be within the years stamped on the cover. This is not at all the difference between the Mint set and circulation coins which Dansco and other album manfacturers have chosen not to recognize, but an entirely new variety within an existing series, which they will be forced to deal with. The other mystery they will have to answer is this a one time thing or a permanent annual offering? Really infuriating.

Good idea.

Yup. And this is where we are stuck. I think Dansco would be wise to wait it out and avoid a "fool me twice" scenario.

I have gone back and forth with another forum member on this and the modern quarters in general recently. I just thought I would share my simple personal solution to the quarter madness!

State Quarters: I have the us mint (grey and blue) P and D album

ATB Quarters: I have the P and D Dansco album for the business strikes. I keep my proofs and silver proofs in a blank Quarters Dansco (and it is a stunning album to look at).

Satin quarters: I am buying them now and will have them also in a seperate blank Quarters Dansco. Once the San Fran ATBs come out, I will include them in this same album. If the series ends up running for several years, I will simply put them into their own, you guessed it, blank Quarters Dansco.

The one oddity, because my State Quarters are not in a dansco, is that I have my territory P, D, Pr and Sil Pr in a blank Dansco quarter page... they fit exactly. Its currently in the ATB proof book, but I'm thinking about doing a states dansco 8143-8144 and I would add this page to that book.

To summarize, I find it very easy and acceptable to just use blank danscos. that way, I can mix/match/customize however I want. I got a ptougch label maker with clear tape, and it looks totally legit.

I presently have all my Quarters in Whitman Albums. However, one from 32 to 98 and another from 99 to present. But there too running out of room. What I've been thinking about is to get blank covers from Whitman. Getting really long posts. Make really big Albums for Quarters with all from 32 to present using all Whitman Pages.
The covers could not be connected naturally. This would become some really large albums though. Still might be better than several Albums. This way those types of Albums could grow forever.
Used to have such Albums where I once worked for constantly growing files. Why not constantly growing coin Albums too.
