1962-Penny-Error?

Look at the rim. is it an error? and if it is, is it scarce?

also what do they call those error again? rim error? rotation error? help? I'm still learning! :)

Looks like a slightly off-centre strike to me. But I'm no expert on these things (yet) .

Yes, it is a little off centre. It is nice to find something out of the ordinary for your sorting. Off centre strikes do not command much of a premium until they are quite a bit off centre. They are almost never seen in circulation because they are immediately obvious even to non-collectors and get removed, I would guess, as soon as they come out of the mint bags. From a financial point of view, I don't think that your coin would commmand too much interest from error collectors. But it is still nice to pick one up for free for your own collection!

Would you not call this coin a MAD = Misaligned Die. Only the obverse of the coin is slightly off. A off-enter coin would have both the obverse and reverse out of alignment. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

As stated above. The degree of the misalignment would not command much of a premium. I still hold on to the higher grade MAD coin that I find. They hold a interest to me.

if you look closely you will see both sides are off center, its hard to get a good picture >.< I need a HD cam lol.
But I'm glad to hear that their scarce but as smallcentguy said, its not worth much cause its not off center that much. just slightly.

also clad hunter, do you buy error coins? I have a few quarters and pennies id sell.
and soon maybe dimes and nickels when I go to the bank later. :D

The reverse rim looks fine. The obverse rim had the misaligned die on it.

I would keep it if it was a hanging 2. Or a harp.
Holding your camera up to your magnifying lense takes clear closeups.
