I got my tax return back and since I have not bought ANY coins in months, I decided to buy the 2006 mint set for the satin finish quarters. I thought this auction was reasonable overall.

I figured it would be cheaper buying the mint set rather than the individual coins in the mint cello.

You got a good price.
You can still buy these sets from the mint, and they want $16.95

don't forget the $4.00 for postage from the mint.
it looks like a buck's difference but I think I would pay that buck just to stay away from that set that didn't meet the standards of the seller. with the mint still selling them I would go that route if you get a bad set they will exchange them till they run out. for a buck stick with the tried and trusted

I purchased a 2006 Mint set as well. The Coins are very nice with the Satin Finish. I won't take these coin sets for granted.

Well, this set came in today's mail. I found it interesting it was shipped in that brown box the mint sets come it. The mint puts it in another box. Anyways the set smells really smokey. Now I don't wanna get nit picky but shipping was $4.00 and there is a $2.43 postage label on the package. This was sent first class. I am not sure if the seller would have shipped priority mail if I would have gave him the extra nickel.

This is my personal experience, and certainly keep in mind that it may have been me doing something wrong. I shipped some things where the postage was figured out by the computer based on size and weight, IE, actual shipping. Well, when I went to ship the item, it ended up being a lot more than what the computer figured. Not sure how. Because of this I now charge a flat rate for shipping that should cover the shipment I am doing. A couple of times it has been 1-2 dollars below my flat rate, and a couple of times a few dollars more, but it has never been way off like it was when the computer did postage itself.

Not sure if that helps explain what the seller is doing. I myself include postage in the price when I am buying and accept it as part of the sell price so I don't really care if the seller made a buck or two because I felt the product was already worth the price AND shipping.....
