Now that the Statehood Quarters are coming to an end in 2008, will we have a new Washington quarter design or resume the previous design? When do you think an image of the new quarter will be unveiled?

I have seen some articles saying that there is a move to use 2009 quarters for Washington DC, Porto Rico and other US territories. I'm not sure if it has passed or is still somewhere in congress.

I think I heard something about that now that you mention it.

APPLICATION IN EVENT OF THE ADMISSION OF ADDITIONAL STATES. If any additional State is admitted into the Union before the end of the 10-year period referred to in paragraph (1), the Secretary of the Treasury may issue quarter dollar coins, in accordance with this subsection, with a design which is emblematic of such State during any 1 year of such 10-year period, in addition to the quarter dollar coins issued during such year in accordance with paragraph (3)(A).
Rest in Peace

Last I heard, the proposal was waiting for Congress to do something with it.

How about a World coin Quarter for every Country that the USA has a military base in. LOL just stirring.

Really the 50 State Quarters should stop with the 50 States. It makes a great series without blurring the lines between Sates and territories. How many Americans can name all 50 States? And how many even Know that the USA has territories?

I wonder with the end of the series if we will see any prices fall, such as the 1999 Silver quarter set. I have been wanting to get one, but I cant seem to stop giving all my money to nohope587 for the 2 Cent coins I'm trying to complete
