I was wondering if anybody could help me with these questions:

I've got some BRB coins with marks next to the year (KM591 and KM592.1). The mark to the left looks like a diamond with a cross in it. The mark to the right seems to be a shell (that I found on the internet, but I'm not sure that's right). Any ideas on what these marks mean? Mint mark? Designer mark? Privy mark?

Does anyone know who designed the BRB, BRE and/or BRB cruzeiro coins?
