I've had this coin in the collection for a while, but have never been able to identify it, or for that matter even figure out which way is up. I love the texture of the hammering, and the deep lines - it's a really bold coin. I've flipped through the Standard Catalogue of World Coins several times trying to ID the coin specifically, and haven't had any photo match exactly. It is about 19mm in circumference. Any help would be appreciated.

The way you have them showing is the right way up. I can sort of read the script, but I've always found older Islamic coins to be, while very pretty, also very congested and difficult to read.

I can make out "Muhammad Sapa/spa...something" on the top of the first pic, which I guess isn't really helpful. The 2nd pic has the number "21" written on it. It could be the date, but that would be confusing... 1321AH would correspond to 1903, or maybe it could be 1221AH, which would mean 1806.

EDIT: And I think I found it. It could possibly be 1 Mohur from the Indian Princely State of Bharatpur. While the style of the wording is slightly different, and your one doesn't have the star and the little minaret thing, I believe the words are the same:

This is a coin of Muhammad shah, Mughal (1718-1748) minted at "Dar ul Khilafat" Shahjahanabad, meaning Delhi in his regnal year 21. The upper image reads like "Muhammad shah Badshah ghazi Sahib Qiran" and the other side "(dar ul)Khila(fat) Shah (jahanabad) Palus Falus" .If the coin weighs around 11 gms in silver, it is a rupee.
