Greetings from PA! A friend has a coin that he would like to get more info on. It is a 25 centimes coin and says "J. Dalidet Cognac" on it. This is a similar one found online http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces8931.html . Thanks!

Cognac is the name of a "commune" 400 kilometres southwest of Paris, so I'm wondering if this token might be connected to that town, rather than to the beverage of the same name.
Epicerie translates to Grocery.
How's that for a start ?

I think Peter is on the right track. This does not look like an actual coin issued by the French Government.

The 1922 25c Is a holed coin with 'RF' on the Reverse and the motto of the Republic of France

"Liberte Egalite Fraternite" (Liberty, equality, fraternity)

This appears to be French notgeld or emergency money. These were quite common during the period due to hyperinflation brought about by World War I. Yours appears to be from a grocery store in the Cognac region, but I don't have the correct reference book to back up my guess.
