Just wanted to give everyone a head up about a great ebay seller I came across over the weekend.

His name is ruderichard. Seems to run a coin shop out of WY. Very nice fellow who sends thank you notes upon payment and without even having to ask will combine your shipments and refund you the shipping cost.

On top of that he has great prices as well. Most of his inventory is modern commems but has some other things as well. Was able to pick up a Library of Congress, Franklin Founding Father and a Lewis and Clarke all PCGS MS70 for a grand total of 217.

Dont go buying up everything he has left as there is more I want lol.

But in all seriousness with the bad rap that ebay gets with all the bad sellers out there there still are some good sellers out there and he is one of them.

Good to hear it. I have three ebay people who are honest sellers. They have good prices and fair policies. Have been happy with my dealings with them. Will wait to post their naames as I am hesitant to give thumbs up easily.

I have two others I've had regular dealings with but both are major coin shops. Been pretty hit or miss on private sales so far, some have taken forever to get here where it was clear they loaded the tracking info and shipped it about a week later. But it is always great to find those gem sellers especially when their inventory matches what youre looking for

I've had some luck lately with bsb1122 and agilitydad on ebay. Both start their coins off reasonably and haggle well - not a lot of drama/posturing.

I ran across a listing by ruderichard not long ago, but the starting price was steep for it so I didn't make a deal.

I was pleasantly surprised by something this morning. If I'm having trouble finding a decent coin or decent price on a coin I need, I'll sometimes do a google search on it just to see what shows up. Typically there are 20 links to ebay or searches on ebay and the rest of the links are pretty worthless - no matter how far back you go. That or it'll take you to davidlawrence or some other auction house and the coin had sold at auction weeks/months ago. This morning I found the coin I wanted at a really solid pricepoint. Was drawing blanks at ebay and Heritage and the other sites I frequent most. I was really shocked! They don't have a lot of inventory, so finding that "match" was a lucky break. The online dealer was bobpaulrarecoins.com - just shocked to find something in a search. It never panned out before - always sites I knew about already or old listings/auctions.

Beffalo thats pretty much how my google searches have always gone as well. Ill have to check out bobpaulrarecoins sometime.

I hate when theres a hard to find coin and it takes you to a site where the coin has already sold and all it did was get your hopes up. ebay for the most part does seem to have the best deals especially on moderns if you put in the time to look. One thing I've found that helps sometimes is sort buy it now prices by the lowest price and look for one with a best offer as well if there are any. But I think in the future I will try and stick more to dealers that I've had success with. I do like david lawrence as well except for moderns they rarely will take a best offer that isn't very close to list price
