Composition: Copper-nickel-zinc
Mintage: 6.092.000
KM Number: KM# 57

It's always nice when you own that 1 (or few) coin out of 6M which is different from the others :)

What I'm interested about is the coin's numismatic value, so I'm asking for your estimation.

Wow a keydate coin isn't?

Congratulations. Here in Malaysia there is none of the keydates dated 1976 , but there is a rare Transitional Metal Error on 1 sen 1976. :)

By the way, I am not familiar with this coin, but the design on the obverse and reverse seems to be off-centered to 6.30 o'clock a bit. Minor Off-centred strike error?

No problem :) Thanks for the reply. I was a bit confused while reading the definition of a "key date" coin...

"A key date refers to a date (or date and mint mark combination) of a given coin series or set that is harder to obtain than other dates in the series."

If I interpreted the definition correctly, my coin is not a key date coin since there are 6.092.000 samples of it made i.e. it's not hard to obtain a sample, they are not rare. Would you be kind to explain why do you think it's a key date coin ?

According to my current understanding, a key date coin is a coin which usually the last to be filled in in the all-date-possible-type collection. Since the difficulty in obtaining the coin is quite subjective, usually the first we (or at least I) refer is the official mintage of the coin.

If the official (true) mintage of this coin is 6million, you have to compare it with the other "ordinary" coin. Depends on particular country, for example like here in Malaysia, ordinary coin usually were minted around 50million to 70million, so a coin with 6million mintage is considered a keydate coin already.

I see your point.

Here are few of the other "2 dinara"
2 dinara 1971 - mintage: 10.413.000
2 dinara 1973 - mintage: 31.848.000
2 dinara 1977 - mintage: 19.335.000
2 dinara 1979 - mintage: 20.069.000
2 dinara 1981 - mintage: 42.599.000

According to the stats, the 1976-set coins are the rarest in the series, but besides that, the highest price I saw (for that coin) was only 0.60 EUR.

2 dinara 1970 F.A.O. (it's a special set) - mintage: 500.000 - and yet it's highest price on ebay is only $5.00.

Since my coin is unique (it's a fair assumption), I believe that should add enough value to the coin. Since I'm willing to sell it, my only problem is determining the present numismatic value of this particular coin. I hope someone has enough experience to (try to) evaluate this coin considering there are many other coins with the same/similar attribute (off-centered).
