Probus---Soli-Invicto

Probus AE Antoninianus. Cyzicus. IMP CM AVR PROBVS PF AVG, radiate bust left, wearing imperial mantle, holding sceptre surmounted by eagle / SOLI INVICTO, Sol in spread quadriga facing. CM between quadriga. Mintmark XXIA. RIC V 911

AE Antoninianus, 3.3g, 23.76mm

I just purchased this coin from JW for a decent price. The coin is rather light in weight for it's size and it looks like a weak strike on the reverse. The coin is also very thin as well.

This is my second Probus coin and the first for this reverse type. I have one more coin coming in this month and that may very well be the last I get this month. What do you guys do when you can't purchase any coins for a long time? lol

Study other coins/ history behind the coins or catalog what I have..
Thinking of searching rolls of pennies (as I seem to find quite a few 1950-1970 US pennies in my change), dimes and quarters...
Those or video game...

Nice coin . When I'm not able to buy, I have to stay away from the auctions and the sellers or I get too tempted. If I look everyday, I can find something I want. Generally, I update my catalog or try to update images, and I stay tuned to CCF.

what do I do? ... what do you think I do?

=> I buy another coin

NOTE => but Bing's advice is far more sound than mine!!

=> I've actually been doing extremely well during the last month, but mainly because I am stock-piling cash to cover my summer vacation back to beautiful British Columbia!

... I am so excited!! (I'm going home for the summer, "and" my dear old Dad is still alive and kicking, at 88 years young ... how many people can say that!!?)

Me, too. In general, anything facing the viewer outranks a side view when it is done well and some dies of this type are pretty well done.

Thanks guys. I really like this coin as well. Maybe one day I'll get a higher grade example. Right now I'm working on my poor man's emperor set. I'm pretty sure I can get over 50 but not too much higher than that.

While Gil-galad's image is more close to the actual color of the coin, here is an image I have of it that I lightened in order to view the details better.
