Good evening. My name is Daryl. I am not a coin collector. However my deceased mother had a slight interest in it. Looking at one of her coins this evening, I came across a 1929 Canadian coin. At least I BELIEVE it is Canadian b/c no country is specified on the coin. But there is a (left-facing) likeness of George V wearing no crown on the front with the stamp "GEORGIVS : BRITT : OMN : REX FID : IND: IMP"
On the reverse it simply says "ONE" on the left side and "PENNY" on the right. In the middle is a stamp of a right-facing, sitting woman wearing a helmet and holding a shield in her near hand and a raised trident in her far hand. The year "1929" is stamped underneath her.
I can seem to find no reference to this coin on the Internet and again I'm guessing it is Canadian. The only 1929 coins similar to this that I could find had the same likeness of George V, but they all had a crown. It isn't that a crown was there and worn away b/c this coin is in exceptional condition with excellent detail in the engraving. Any info regarding this coin would be appreciated, especially if it is NOT Canadian.
