The dupondius was a brass coin used during the Roman Empire and Roman Republic valued at 2 asses (1/2 of a sestertius or 1/8 of a denarius).

The dupondius was introduced during the Roman Republic as a large cast coin

... interesting

oh sorry, t0rress => I forgot to mention that I think your coin is "beautiful"!!

Hmmm, this coin actually gives me the ultra-shivers, and I am really wanting to go-out and find a super cool impulse-buy on a Vespasian dupondius cast-coin!!

... ummmm, but of course I will "refrain myself", because of my quickly approaching summer vacation!! (right honey?)

Vespasian's dupondii are struck, not cast. The early Republican cast dupondii weigh two Roman pounds and are extremely rare. The denomination, like all others, was reduced in weight over time. By the time of Vespasian, a dupondius was more like a half dollar than like a brick.
