Quote:Wow. Nice. I dont understand how anyone gets anything for spot. Even the local coin shop that use to be here never sold anything for spot.
I only rarely find some 90% on
ebay for spot
well, it is luck and lack of bargain hunters
P.S. I have some 20 half dollars pre 1964 I'd trade or sell at spot ... no one offers me the deal and I'm too lazy to list them on
ebay ))

That would be really cool if they did mint an official silver coin in Japan. They could have a series of 1-oz coins that embody the things that are important in Japanese culture. This could include, historical figures, fishermen and their junks, cherry blossoms, koi, Mt. Fuji, Samurai warriors, bonsai trees, garden bridges, and probably several others. No need to let the Chinese have all the fun with this.
I've seen some japanese gold bullion but have never seen silver ones. May be it is lack of popularity of this metal.
There are commemorative silver coins - prefectures - they bear high numismatic premium and lots of japanese collect them.
