Sam, issues of pandas years 1983, 1984, 1985 sell for less than on ebay. the ones I have I've got mostly as a bunch deals on auction with bad pictures ending during a workday. If it is sold separately than the price is even higher than on ebay ... I'm for one selling slabbed pandas in Japan time to time for a pretty good profit. As of other chinese commemoratives they are cheaper here than on ebay including some rare issues.

Wow. Nice. I dont understand how anyone gets anything for spot. Even the local coin shop that use to be here never sold anything for spot. I only rarely find some 90% on ebay for spot

Quote: But here is Fujimint Mint which has minted several rounds (not legal tender)... That would be really cool if they did mint an official silver coin in Japan. They could have a series of 1-oz coins that embody the things that are important in Japanese culture. This could include, historical figures, fishermen and their junks, cherry blossoms, koi, Mt. Fuji, Samurai warriors, bonsai trees, garden bridges, and probably several others. No need to let the Chinese have all the fun with this.

I only rarely find some 90% on ebay for spot well, it is luck and lack of bargain hunters P.S. I have some 20 half dollars pre 1964 I'd trade or sell at spot ... no one offers me the deal and I'm too lazy to list them on ebay )) Quote: That would be really cool if they did mint an official silver coin in Japan. I've seen some japanese gold bullion but have never seen silver ones. May be it is lack of popularity of this metal. There are commemorative silver coins - prefectures - they bear high numismatic premium and lots of japanese collect them.

Colu, pawn shops here have some very neat items that they sell at spot or above it, but numismatic value of the items is several times higher. Something like on the previous page, 7 coins some in cases. Bought it for $300. Selling just two of those (chinese horse and macau horse) can cover all expenses, the rest is profit. here are last 2 oz of coins. payed $12 over spot

There are no coins minted because no one wants to collect them and since no one collects them, there is no interest in minting the coins. The fact that they do collect some silver rounds seems to show some interest. Do very many Japanese collect silver coins from other countries?

I won these earlier, and finally made some pictures. Both are one ounce of silver.
