Jeez first look I would have said die crack , but looking longer at it (since it is 1983 zinc-lincoln) could be the old ZincRot syndrome. It can show up in strange places/shapes. Hopefully the pros will know better!! Good Luck!!

Not sure what it is but I know it's kinda common on pre 1982 Lincolns like the 1950's and 1960's.

Probably just plating issues.
Unless it's an 83-D copper cent :)
Then you would something there.
If it's just a zincoln try to scrape the high spots off
with a razor blade. Oh, and be careful not to cut your finger off
in the process. If they come off it's just plating. If they don't you have some minor (now scratched) die cracks.

Small die chips -- often elongated or arranged in chains -- often appear on the pillars. That's what you've got.
