Is a 2006-W PF70 ASE with 3 ~<1 mm white spots on the mirror field obverse still a 70 grade coin? Or a perfect coin? They can only be seen with strong magnification.

NumisMedia values a 2006-W PF70 ASE at $110 and the coin ca be bought at $85.
Anybody have any comments? Thanks in advance

Technically I think its no longer a 70. but no one is going to send it back in to get graded lower unless theyre looking to have it bought back or replaced

Thanks for your insight. To my eyes it is a beautiful coin and would be happy with it.
However if I sold the coin years later, would I take a hit in value if Tried to sell it . Especially if one of our eagle eyed Forum members whipped out his loupe.
Is that word ok to use Here.

It all really depends on who youre selling it too and how bad the spots get. But yes you more than likely will lose some of the value because of it unfortunately. I have a 70 2006 RP that is starting to get some of those but I'm keeping it for now until I find another one as I know if I send it in they will just buy it back and not replace it

Maybe the dry desert of Las Vegas will help with spotting.
I think I will buy it and not worry about something I can't readily see.

I would probably get it especially if the price was a little lower. Maybe check out some others first but if you like it you like it and thats all that really matters

IMO, personal preference and desires play alot into it.

My ASEs, bullions and proofs, are 69s and 70s, raw and certified, and very difficult to distinguish the difference. Each was hand selected whether a $40 or $100 + purchase. I just don't care for the ones that have the detracting marks or spots in my collection whether they have that 69 or 70 attached to it.

Define "Strong magnification". Although if they a 1 mm spots they are probably visible without magnification.
