Hey peeps I'm not a collector but have some coins in my house for many years and don't have a clue. I have three gold dollars 1852,1855,1874 and a 1868 25 cent octagonal just a little curious about them and there worth?

They don't sound like Australian Coins. We didn't have Dollar coins here until 1984, and they are not gold. Are you sure you have posted your query in the correct forum?

Pictures will make the identification so much easier too.

Like Nancy said, photos would greatly help with identification. I'm guessing the coins you have are USA? Regardless, lot's of folks here are glad to help.

However, if you're up for doing your own research, check out the US Coin Facts page right here on the CCF website. Coins are grouped by denomination with links to various date ranges. Click the link for your coin to see a photo and some basic information. Pretty cool!

Can't give a value without photos. Sounds like you do have all three different types of $1 gold, type II being the scarce of the three.
