Is it the greenback that you are talking about? Dimensions of large size notes, which is what the 1862 one dollar note should be, are about 7.422" X 3.125". Even if the measurements checks out, it doesn't automatically mean it's genuine. If you post a picture someone will be able to tell what you have.
