"Youth on horse right" just seemed so right, ya know?

=> I wasn't seriously looking to buy anything tonight, but if my lowball-bid of $25 skids through as the winning bid, then I'll take it!! ... and it did!!

=> $31 delivered!!

Philip II Bronze
359-336 BC
Diameter: 18 mm
Weight: 6.2 grams
Obv.Head of Apollo right
Rev.Youth on horse right

=> $31 ... man, that's kinda like buying a dinner at McDonalds!! (I mean that it's cheap, not gross)

Very nice details, they usually aren't in this good shape. Not a bad price either.

Steve, I keep seeing your posts with your new "Ancient Acquisitions" and have been looking at these types of coins more and more on ebay.

Must resist the urge from the darkside!

Canadian-Banknotes => "Back to the Future"

Yah, I don't really know how it happened? ... there I was, collecting Dominion of Canada banknotes and then I got into my Delorean and "poof" I arrived back here in ancient Greece!!?

... amazingly, once I bought my first ancient coin, I haven't purchased anything but ancient coins (I think they must have crack, or something addictive in 'em?) ...

I'm sure that I'll return back to the future again, but for now I'm having a blast learning a new-side of the coin-world!! (or I guess I'm actually learning an old-side of the coin-world!?) ...

=> thanks for dropping-by (hey, you should buy an ancient coin and stay for a while!)

Very nice coin. I don't have any ancient Greek coins yet, perhaps in the future.

I looked at that one but decided not to bid. I suspect that the harsh look in the photo and pits at the reverse top left will not be anything like as obvious when the coin is in hand. I was scared off by what I hope was bad photography and suspect that is why you got the coin for less than you might have thought. It has a good strong strike and clear minor type (spearpoint?) under the horse. I hope you will be posting later how pretty the coin actually is.

Nice one! I noticed the spearpoint too; there's a lot of variety to these Philip coins.

I have found a couple on ebay that I like.

Who knows... I might be sticking around the ancients section for a while.

It's that Merlot (or maybe something stronger ) and that cold Canadian air that is driving these late night buys Steve?

Nice buy in this case though!
