Very nice. The portrait looks like his eyes are closed in prayer or asleep depending on your point of view. The reverse is in fine condition IMHO.

Jessvc1, I find it easier to attribute Byzantine coins than some Roman, plus it helps to have the book.

I like those large Byzantine follis coins. I'm planning on purchasing a Anastasius I in the future, that has a similar reverse. Very nice coin with clear facial features.

The letters on reverse are the denomination of the coin for example:M=40 nummi(follis), K=20(half follis), I=10, E=5

Hi jessuc it's really a nice coin.I like justinian I coins and I'd like to show you one of mine follis for a comparison.....as you know it's difficult buy byzantine coins with these levels of preservation....
