Some Asian Coins I Got Recently - Coin Community Forum

sheeptotherescue Valued Member United States 154 Posts	Posted 06/19/2012 1:38 pm Hey all, Just thought I'd share some coins I got from ebay recently. The coins on the left are thai coins, 25 Satang to 10 Baht. The two coins on the right are from Bhutan! Which I think is pretty nifty. The Thai coins are so lovely though, I love seeing all the cool temples, I almost feel like I'm there. The package they came in was half covered in different Thai stamps which was cool to see too, although I'm not a stamp collector. A few years ago I rented a Bhutan-made movie from a library. The story is of a local official who's making a cross-country trip to get to a location from which he could emigrate to the US. At some point my wife (who was born in the US) asked me where Bhutan was, I explained. Just a couple minutes later, in the movie, one of people the main character comes across asked him why he wanted to emigrate to a country "where nobody even knows where Bhutan is!" That movie is most of my exposure to Bhutan, and looking at the coins makes me think about what life is like there. PS The title of the movie is Travelers and Magicians. Report this Post to the Staff
