This is another coin I inherited. It is not in great condition, to say the least. I can't seem to find anything about the marks that are on both sides. It almost looks like it was clamped because the indents match on both sides. What do you think? Is it just damaged or is it a die error? What could it be from?

My camera battery is charging so I had to scan the coin.

My husband's grandfather collected coins, but he did them on found coins. I guess he hunted rolls. I'm guessing this is just one he found in random change and kept it. I can't imagine anyone ever doing this to a coin. Or with what even? The marks are precise and perfectly match front and back.
