gilgerr24 Valued Member United States 214 Posts	Posted 06/21/2012 5:45 pm Hi I just bought a bunch of lower grade Large Cents. No holes just lots of wear and a couple bent or scratched ones. I was filling my book and picking out better one of what I had and what I got. When I got to 1848 They looked alot different. As you can see in the pics, #1 the Dates look different, the rims are different, Pic #2 the Letters look different, same thing for rim. And Pic #3 the thickenss is a lot different. I know these are not the greatest coins ever, but can anyone offer any info on them? is one some kind of variety or something? Thanks For your Help. Rob Report this Post to the Staff

jfransch Pillar of the Community United States 1801 Posts	Posted 06/21/2012 10:44 pm There are at least 40 varieties of 1848 large cent identified. Your two coins are two different varieties, the date lettering is not the same on both of your coins. Report this Post to the Staff
