I didn't realize they were waiting for the end of sales to start shipping. I thought something happened with my credit card....being I ordered them over a week ago. Everyday I'm hoping to see that little brown box...lol But all was was well, 7/27 is what they're saying. IMO if they shipped the set as soon as you ordered it, following your shipping preference. I can't help but feel we would be seeing higher sales numbers for these sets. I use to have the mentality, When I buy something I want it when I pay for it! Not 3 day's later....never mind a week or two, It probably had to do with my age. 17-24. But I imagine theirs a lot of people, who still feel this way, so they won't order something that's going to take a month to get to them.
This is great for everyone who's ordered one.
Its going to be a huge SLAP in the face. Especially for actual collectors should they have chose to pass on this.

Eaglefoot I've always enjoyed your views, and replies. So I'd hate to see you lose out...whats a little crow...anyway...lol
To answer your question... without beating around the bush.....
Order a set!
According to 13 Red Book 2006 RP, Reverse Proof mintage was 248,875..,,,
Put it this way, these can be the third lowest Silver Eagles minted for the entire series
25th anv I consider as 2nd (Tie) so these can be tied for third.
But this is where it gets exciting!! There can be a huge rush at the end, or remain under 240K
Question is, what would you rather live with......

156,569 sets ordered, and 9 days remain.

This order number might just be like the 06 set.

I'm interested how that prediction above, that 150k was the original minting, mixes with the number of cancellations and returns...and how many of those shipped on Sept. 28 are someone else's returns. Put another way, to what extent does the likelihood of getting 70s go down for those who order in the last week?

Clint they arent supposed to resend returns, but in all honesty there is no way to tell if some of the later orders will have already been returned by someone else or not

I'm thinking getting a 70 set from MCM is a better deal, since I'd like a 70 set and can't realistically go through the effort to do it otherwise.

Clint if you're looking for a 70 set it is cheaper to just buy it already graded unless you get real lucky with what you send in.

I think that the only returns that might be re-shipped are those that are returned still in their original mint sealed packaging, such as returns from dealers who overbought. In such cases there is no real issue about quality.

This appears to be a relatively unique situation, where there is an initial striking and a distinct second striking, with the two being well separated in time. I can't imagine that there is any reason to suspect that there will be any quality differences between the two however. If anything, sets in the second striking might have a slight chance of being of higher average quality if the folks at the mint have made any small changes to the production flow based on information gathered from the first striking. This is, after all, the first striking of silver Eagle proofs at San Francisco since 1992 (production moved to Philadelphia in 1993 and to West Point in 2001) and their first reverse proof ever, so it is at least possible that they will make some minor adjustments for the second striking.

There's only one day left to order this set ! Do you think this 2012 reverse proof sae will be the 2nd lowest mintage(key coin). After the 25th anniversary r/p or the 3rd lowest minted. After the 20th anniversary reverse proof ?

Todays Totals 245,131

20th Anniversary reverse proof mintage 248,875

Only 3,745 to go to make it the 3rd lowest minted r/p

Im on the fence about buying this set,What to do only one day to go !

Hollywood theres pretty much no way it doesn't pass the 20th short of a TON of orders being canceled or the sets just being a terrible quality and having a large percentage of them returned.

On the bright side you could always put in a few different orders to have them reserved if you want and think it over for a while. With october ship dates now you have plenty of time to cancel

Good point basebal21

These dont have a maximum mintage of 250k like the 20th ann r/p 250k -1,125 in returns = 248,875.

With the spike yesterday that would put this one around 280k final, could hit 300k realistically. But even is sales dropped and only had 15k in sales tomorrow I just dont see this one putting up the 10X return rate itd need to stay under the 20th. Then again SF hasnt done an RP yet and could have just done a terrible job but I would be shocked if that were the case.
