I have a recent 1 troy ounce silver coin minted around 2010 and it is a misstrike. The image is off center. Trying to get a value? Moved to Bullion forum - SapEdited by Pontiac130 06/26/2012 7:25 pm

what coin is it? Picture? Welcome to CCF, to join this site you need to donate 1 x 1oz silver misprint coin to the site to continue... I'll be happy to take it and pass it onto them Would love to see this, never seen misprinted silver.

That bullion round was not issued by the US Mint, it was produced by a private manufacturer. Since it is a privately minted piece, they could easily create a bunch of random errors that would have no true numismatic value since they could be produced on demand. Some of the well-known bullion round mints like Sunshine or Silvertowne would not commit an unethical act like that but I would nto put it past some of the lesser-known manufacturers trying to yeild higher profits through the creation of "errors".

Thanks for the info. So it's just worth it's weight in silver... I understand. Just thought it might be worth something?

I should have mentioned that it would still probably fetch at least 2x spot in an ebay auction. If that type of error were to be found on an American Silver Eagle, it would be an error worth several thousand dollars(or more) and quite a rarity.

I have seen error coins intentionally produced, so that is probably one of them.
Does it say who minted it? What is on the reverse?

I agree with biokemist6. I've seen a ton of buffalo rounds and even have a dozen or so, but I've never seen a flaw like yours. I'd place its value at 2-3x spot, minimum. Now all that changes if some mint deliberately flooded the market with them. Since I've moved on from rounds like yours, I'm not aware if that was indeed the case. You might want to do an ebay search for silver error buffalo and see how many you find.
