Ghost I wouldn't be shocked if it was. I find it unusual the proofs would have such high numbers of 70s yet the ms has only a handful. Regardless of what anyone says I do think pcgs at least makes an attempt to control how many 70s are our there for a coin. It always seems like they try and stay under whatever ngcs number is but its possible they decided that 70s were going to be exceptional rare for these

basebal21 you're almost making it sound like PCGS has already prejudged that status of the 70's. However, I do believe that there is a razor margin difference between a 70 and a 69 score. I realize that the line has to be drawn somewhere, but it does seem from seeing different forums that not all grading companies have the same standards when it comes to assigning a 70 grade. But the line has to be drawn somewhere and afterall we are all judged and some of us are found wanting from time to time. I believe that that's why CAC is a good measuring stick after the tps have had their say. Sort of grading the graders so to speak.

lol ghost. I do believe they have a ballpark figure which they want to keep them at. And really like you said the difference is so small you could probably really make a case that most 69s could be 70s and some 70s could be 69s the difference is so small there. Seems like the difference can often be how good of a mood they are in that day.
I know some people dont like CAC, but I am a fan of the idea as well. Especially for older coins in the mid 60s grades there can be a fairly big difference between a high end and low end of the grade and CAC certainly helps from a selling standpoint. I like the PCGS + and NGC star idea as well, just wish they would make it part of their standard grading scale so all coins that deserve it would get it. But with the extra stuff PCGS does for the plus I can see why they charge more.

Frankly, I think CAC should sticker anything from any service. Although, I have to admit... the only way I'd buy an SGS coin is if it had TWO CAC stickers...
Funny story about them, I was at a bullion dealer who had a Franklin mint coin in one of their holders. The label said PR-68. And for once I thought they were right.

Cc that is actually pretty amazing. I wasn't aware SGS even made labels that didn't say 70

Can't believe y'all got your S circulating quarters. I placed on order for a 100-coin bag right when they went on sale at noon ET on 7/21, along with 2 mint sets and a silver proof set, but nothing received yet.

Hey Hollywood, thanks for your posting about the extra blank quarter pages for the Dansco album. I had forgetten all about these pages and they would make a great addition to store the "s" mintmarked coins.
But like others have mentioned here I am hoping that the mint will put out these coins in an annual collector pack. That was I won't have to dump 195 coins each year. It just seems much more economical to purchase these coins that way than to but 5 rolls.

Two questions. First, I opened one of my two rolls to pick out a couple nice coins for albums. I would like to sell the remaining 37 coins in the roll. Would I do better to sell the roll or sell them individually? What would be a realistic price to ask?
Second, has anyone heard anything about if/when they will release the other 4 coins for 2012?
I said this somewhere before, but I have a strong feeling (based on nothing specific) that this will be the only year they do this.
