I have a large part of my coin collection in folders which have plastic pages which the coins drop into.

My first ever folder that I bought was from WHSmiths (a bookshop that does stationary) and this was far superior.

It had plastic pages but the coins did not drop straight in, they went in the horizontal strips which then slide inside.

I cant find these anymore... maybe someone knows where they can be bought online... the thing is they are much sturdier and can hold smaller coins without them dropping out and also the pages don't have such a tendency to sag under the weight of the coins. (a couple of folders the pages are getting really messed up because they contain such a weight of coins)

Unfortuately I never even heard of them but since your in the UK, might have a lot of manufacturers there that we just don't get products from. Not sure just how good those are compared to all the other ones we have here in the USA, but today there are many, many manufacturers of Albums and Folders. Difficult to know exactly what your taking about with out a photo of them. Here we bsically say a Folder is just that, a Folder. They open, have slots for coins, no plastic covers and you can not see the reverses. Albums however, do have plastic slides that cover the coins and you can see both sides of all coins.
Members on this forum are sort of Dansco people. By that I mean they are stuck on Dansco as a brand for Albums. I'm an exception since I basically use Whitman Albums but also a few other brands. Unfortunately if you can't find more of those that you like, you may have to just add new and different brands.
It is possible though that with all the experienced members here, some will be able to tell you more about those.

Ahh, folder and album... I didn't make a distinction between the two words...

I am talking about albums...a ring binder with plastic pages... the kind I have now have single plastic pages which you put the coin in so you can view both sides.

The type I want has plastic pages, but the coins go into horizontal strips which then slide into these pages.

Maybe just learning that you make a distinction between these two words will help me :)

Thank you very much, those are very similar to what I wanted (the only difference is that they slot in vertically rather than horizontally) but they look like they are worth a try :)
