Colonialjohn/S-Bob... "671"-Dated 8R Replica

In a thread in an "Unidentified" subforum on here, you asked about the first one in the pic below, which swamperbob has... No idea what the legend signifies (Latin, something about hard and conquer...), but knew I had seen something similar before, just couldn't place where. Doing some computer file updating, duh... I bought this from a UK seller on the Bay last year (the 2nd piece). Mine seems to be made out of some sort of non-silver white metal - solid alloy, not plated, it seems. Yours looks brass?

Obviously mine is a full button-type, and the design I think has that general French 1870's replica reales button look to it... Can't tell for certain from that pic, but note it looks like the neck of your piece shows some evidence of repair.
